"Edge of the Road" tells the story of Simon Bodin, an eighty-five-year old ex-combat diver who spends his twilight years in a residential care home.
After a freak accident, Simon suffers from Wernicke's aphasia, a severe language disorder. Knowing time will destroy his ability to communicate, Simon flees the
home, making his great escape, determined to find his wife and talk to her. He hits the road, heading to the sea, where she lives separated from him in a house by the ocean. Chased by police, the
silver-tongued Simon experiences a loss of language with each mile he gains.
